Macallan 2019 Rare Cask Batch No.1 22nd Special Air Service 70cl with SAS Beret & Patch.

Macallan 2019 Rare Cask Batch No.1 22nd Special Air Service 70cl. This is the first batch of Macallan Rare Cask single malt released in 2019. In 2018, Macallan started to release its Rare Cask expression in batches, with four batches planned for release in 2019. Each batch is a vatting of 50 Sherry Butts, showing off the Distillery's history of excellent Sherried expressions. Founded in 1824, The Macallan is one of the world’s most admired and awarded single malt whiskies. The reputation of The Macallan is based on a product of outstanding quality and distinctive character, founded upon a set of guiding principles, the Six Pillars. An obsession with quality has been the hallmark of The Macallan since its founding by Alexander Reid in 1824.

This particular Rare Cask bottle carries the famous and formidable insignia of the 22nd Special Air Service, believed to have been purchased at The Macallan Estate and engraved in a Limited number for D Squadron. The 22 SAS Regiment is organized into four squadrons, each squadron consisting of four 16 man troops. Each troop specializes in either mountaineering, parachuting, amphibious operations, or mobility operations using vehicles and heavy weapons.

The regiment normally has a strength of 400 to 600 personal,it has four operational squadrons: A, B, D and G. Each squadron consists of approximately 65 members commanded by a major, divided into four troops (each troop being commanded by a captain) and a small headquarters section.
